Bird proofing at height in short

Tactical Height Solutions provides bird proofing at height for buildings in Sydney using IRATA-certified rope access technicians instead of scaffolding. Pigeon netting, spikes and deterrents installed on ledges, balconies, signs and plant areas that ground crews can't reach. Every job is supervised by an IRATA Level 3 technician, carried out under NSW contractor licence 478674C, and covered by $20 million public liability insurance. Site inspections in Sydney are free, enquiries get a reply the same day, and most jobs can start within 48 hours of an approved quote.

Updated October 2026 by Naldo Neto, IRATA Level 3 and licensed painter.

Pigeons choose the parts of a building nobody can reach: ledges, window heads, signs, balcony soffits and rooftop plant. Their droppings stain façades, block gutters, corrode metal and create slip and health hazards on walkways and balconies below.

Because the problem areas are usually high and awkward, bird proofing on taller buildings suits rope access. We reach the ledge directly, scrape and bag the droppings by hand and sanitise the area first, then install netting, spikes or other deterrents suited to the spot, without scaffold or a lift on the footpath.

We combine bird proofing with washing or sealant work when it makes sense, so you pay for access once.

Why choose our bird proofing at height

  • Reaches the real problem spotsLedges, soffits and signs high on the building, not just what a ladder reaches.
  • Cleaned first, by handDroppings and nests scraped off and bagged by hand, never blasted with a pressure washer that spreads them, then the area is sanitised.
  • Right deterrent for the spotNetting, spikes or wires chosen for the ledge, the bird pressure and how the building looks.
  • Shared accessDone with washing, sealing or painting to share the cost of getting there.

Questions about bird proofing at height

Why use rope access for bird proofing?

The places birds roost are usually high ledges and soffits that ladders cannot reach and lifts cannot get close to. Rope access reaches them directly without scaffold.

Do you clean the droppings first?

Yes. Areas are cleaned and sanitised before any netting or spikes go in; otherwise birds are drawn back and the mess stays behind the netting.

Will netting change how the building looks?

Netting in a matching colour is hard to see from the street. We choose the least visible option that will work for each area.

Can you do it at the same time as other work?

Yes. Combining bird proofing with washing, sealing or painting means you only pay for access once.
